“Their ladies that lift class is simply fab! I’m several months postpartum and the coaches are happy to adjust the exercises accordingly. Better still, it’s a really welcoming place where I can bring the twins along, dip in and out as needed during the session, and make exercise classes and maternity leave actually work!”
“I have been going to Ladies That Lift sessions twice a week for the last year. I am 64 and had an early menopause following Breast Cancer — one of the side effects being lower bone density. The sessions have been life-changing for my health and confidence.”
“I like this place. Coaches are friendly and will make time for you if you ask. They have developed my lifting and interpersonal skills greatly in the year I have been going here. It’s a great place to develop relationships with coaches and other lifters alike.”
“Steven is being brilliant for me — hugely confidence giving. The aches and pains I used to have are going. I would give 10 stars if I could!”
“Crazy Strength is an incredible community — coaches who genuinely care, programmes that work for every age and ability, and an atmosphere unlike any other gym I’ve been to. #BeAGoodHuman isn’t just a tagline here, you feel it every session.”
Crazy Strength was established by Craig Spicer — a strength coach with over 25 years of experience in the sport, having competed at all levels and across multiple disciplines since the early 2000s.
Craig spent 17 years as a civilian Physical Training Instructor working for the British Army — where he created Army Weightlifting from scratch, built it into a fully Army Sports recognised programme, and served as Head Coach for both Army Powerlifting and Army Weightlifting from 2016 onwards. His tireless work was publicly credited with transforming armed forces weightlifting across all three services. He has since gone on to become Coaching Lead for British Powerlifting, shaping the sport at a national level.
But Craig’s story goes deeper than sport. At the age of 26 he went through six months of chemotherapy. Rather than letting that experience define or diminish him, he used it as the catalyst to transform his life — channelling his recovery into strength sport, coaching, and an unshakeable belief that the human body and mind are capable of far more than we think. That experience drives everything at Crazy Strength.
Craig is a cancer survivor, a public speaker, and a passionate supporter of Cancer Research UK — raising money and awareness through events at Crazy Strength and beyond. If you’re interested in Craig speaking at your event, or want to support the fundraising, get in touch.

We believe strength training is for everyone — whatever your age, ability, background or diagnosis. The barbell doesn’t care. Your history doesn’t define your capability. Every person who walks through our door gets the same thing: real coaching, a real community, and a real chance to discover what they’re made of.
#BeAGoodHuman — not just a tagline. A way of being.
