Cancer is at the Heart of the Crazy Strength Story
Our founder Craig Spicer is a 15-year survivor of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, diagnosed at the age of 26. What followed was one of the hardest periods of his life — and one that would shape everything Crazy Strength stands for.
While Craig was going through chemotherapy, his wife Dawn was also diagnosed with cancer. During that same period, their son Alfie arrived 12 weeks premature, having been conceived through IVF during Craig’s treatment. Three diagnoses, one family, three years of fighting.
Craig credits surviving cancer as one of his main drivers to build the Crazy Strength community — believing that both living with and recovering from illness are intrinsically linked to strength, movement and community.
Throughout its existence, Crazy Strength has tried to give something back. From gym events to competitions, the community has consistently rallied for Cancer Research UK and the Stand Up To Cancer campaign. This isn’t just a charity link on a website — it’s personal.
In 2025 and 2026, Crazy Strength is hosting multiple events specifically to raise vital money for life-saving cancer research. If you’ve ever been touched by cancer — as a patient, a carer, a family member or a friend — you’ll understand why this matters.
